Make it work

Printable workflow for this squishy

Use this section as the craft-table checklist: choose the right file, print it cleanly, assemble in the right order, and fix common problems before the final seal.

Which file should I use?

  1. 1
    Finished cover

Use this first to confirm the shape, colors, and finished look before spending paper.

  2. 2
    Color template

Best for a fast project. Print, tape, cut, stuff, and seal.

  3. 3
    Coloring template

Best for kids or classrooms. Color while the sheet is flat, then tape both sides.

  4. 4
    Assembly steps

Open this while making the template so the folding and stuffing order stays clear.

  5. 5
    ZIP asset pack

Best if you want every image and PDF for one template in a single download.

Assembly steps ready

Strawberry Boba

Drink templates need extra care around the top rim and straw area; reinforce those seams before stuffing.

Print settings that prevent bad cuts

  • Use 100% scale, actual size, or no scaling. Do not use fit-to-page if it changes the dieline.
  • Print one test page first and check that tabs, fold lines, and margins are not clipped.
  • Use the PNG template at 100% scale, then check that the full outline and tabs fit inside your printer margins.
  • Plain printer paper is usually easier to squish than thick cardstock.

5-step assembly order

  1. Preview

Look at the finished cover and template preview so you know which panels become the visible front.

  2. Color

If using the coloring version, color before cutting. Keep heavy marker ink away from fold lines.

  3. Protect

Cover the front and back with overlapping clear tape. Rub the tape flat before cutting.

  4. Cut and fold

Cut outside the solid lines and pre-fold dashed lines gently with a ruler edge.

  5. Stuff and close

Add a small amount of soft stuffing, test the squeeze, then close the last seam with short tape strips.

Quick fixes

Edges keep opening

Use shorter tape pieces around curves, then press each seam from the center outward.

Template feels too hard

Open the last seam and remove stuffing. Paper squishies need air space to bounce back.

Art looks wrinkled

Tape the flat sheet before cutting and avoid stretching tape over curved corners.

Panels do not align

Reprint at 100% scale and cut just outside the black outline instead of inside it.

Make this template work in real life

Use the printable as a craft object: preview the asset, print at actual size, color before cutting, tape both sides, then add only enough stuffing for a soft squeeze.

1

Print the cup shape and color the strawberry area before adding tape.

Start with a simple outline, print at 100% scale, and keep the design inside the safe page margins.

2

Cut slowly around the straw and lid, because those corners can wrinkle.

Color while the paper is still flat. Large marker areas are easier to smooth before tape is added.

3

Tape both sides and reinforce the bottom edge with a second narrow strip.

Cover both sides with overlapping strips of clear tape so the paper resists tearing and smudging.

4

Stuff from the bottom opening, then seal with overlapping pieces of tape.

Use small pieces of tissue, clean grocery bag, or soft scrap paper. Too much stuffing makes seams pop.

Print and Assembly Checks

  • Keep print scale at 100% so front, back, tabs, and fold lines stay aligned.
  • Color while the sheet is still flat, then tape both sides before cutting.
  • Use short tape strips around tight curves instead of forcing one long strip to bend.
  • If the squishy feels hard, remove a little stuffing before sealing the final edge.
