Assembly overview

1. Print and check. Print both template pages at 100% / Actual Size. The bar must measure 50 mm. Use 160–180 gsm paper, thin craft glue and soft tissue. Color before cutting; avoid thick tape on the neck or cap.
2. Cut six parts. Cut W1, W2, T, B, N and C. T is the solid top of the filling chamber. The faint N square on T is an alignment mark: DO NOT cut it out. Decorations inside the parts stay whole.
3. Crease the body. Fold each wall at 60 mm and at the blue J boundary to make square corners, printed side out. Fold top and bottom tabs inward. Precrease without glue, then open the strips again.
4. Join W1 to W2. Apply thin glue to the printed face of W1 J. Put it UNDER the blank back of the plain starting edge of W2. Align at the blue boundary: 8 mm overlap. Press this seam while it is flat.
5. Close the box walls. Fold the long strip into a 60 x 48 mm rectangle. Glue W2 J under the beginning of W1, up to the blue line. Both J boundaries form corners. Keep top and bottom open while this seam dries.
6. Close the bottom. Fold bottom tabs inward. Glue their printed outward faces to the blank back of B. The cream side faces outside. Press through the open top, supporting B from below. Let the base dry.
7. Prepare the neck hem. On N, fold each 5 mm upper hem inward and glue blank back to blank back. Then crease the three panel corners and the J boundary. Keep the lower 6 mm feet free for the next step.
8. Form the hollow neck. Glue the printed face of N J under the blank back of the first panel: 8 mm overlap. Make a 28 mm square tube, 22 mm high. Fold all four lower feet OUTWARD. Leave the neck empty.
9. Mount N onto T. Place N around the faint 28 mm square on the printed side of T. Glue the BLANK UNDERSIDES of its four outward feet to T. Press from the back while T is still loose. T stays solid under the neck.
10. Fill the body only. Add a little soft tissue to the body. Keep the upper 7 mm clear of filling so the top tabs can fold flat. Do not fill the neck or cap. Avoid bulging the walls.
11. Seal the chamber. Fold the body top tabs inward. Glue their printed faces to the blank underside of T with N attached. Press around the accessible outer rim, then let all joints dry fully. The stuffing stays sealed below T.
12. Fold the cap. On C, fold four 16 mm walls down from the 32 mm central square, printed side outside. Fold the four small corner tabs inward. The illustrated underside stays open; do not add a base.
13. Glue four cap corners. Put glue on the printed side of each small corner tab and tuck it behind the blank inside of its neighboring wall. Press from the open underside. Keep the square shape and wipe away glue lumps.
14. Dry, then test the fit. Let the cap dry fully. Lower it straight over N without force. The cap is 32 mm across the fold lines; N is 28 mm. This is a loose lift-off fit, not a latch. Keep sliding surfaces free of tape and glue.
15. Open and close again. Lift the cap to reveal the hollow neck; put it back on to close. Hold the body, not the cap. The body is 60 x 48 x 110 mm, about 132 mm tall with the neck. A paper toy: do not add liquid.
