Follow all eight steps. Attach the walls along F in order W1, W2, W3. Fold W2 at N to fit the tight tail notch; use short overlapping tape pieces there. Leave the four marked back tabs open for light filling, then close and tape every seam.

Assembly overview

  1. Print, mark and cut. Print both color OR both coloring pages at 100% / Actual Size. Do not Fit to Page. Check each 50 mm square. Use 80–120 gsm paper. Transfer join numbers to the blank backs before cutting all 7 pieces. Color first. Cut outer edges only; thin inner lines are decoration. FILL marks the seam opening, not a cut.
  2. Prepare strips; dry-fit the joins. Fold the small tabs inward. Each wall has 131.17 mm of body plus an 8 mm overlap. Put that overlap BEHIND the next strip; its starting edge meets the dotted JOIN line. Keep all F tabs on the same side. Dry-fit first; do not close the loop yet. On W2, fold the dashed N line into the tight notch between the tail lobes; curve the other sections gently.
  3. Follow F: W1, then W2, then W3. The map shows F from the printed side. Glue the F tabs beneath its blank back, a few at a time: W1 follows 1 to 2 across the head and back; W2 follows 2 to 3 around BOTH tail lobes; W3 follows 3 to 1 around the belly. Match N to the tail notch. Join the 8 mm overlaps as you go; close W3 behind W1 last. Tape the full front seam, using short pieces at N.
  4. Fit B; leave four tabs open. Turn the shell over. Match the mirrored B to the same join numbers, with artwork outward. Glue it onto the B tabs EXCEPT the four marked !. Leave this lower-body back seam accessible. Do not cut a separate filling hole.
  5. Fill through the lower seam. Add small loose pieces of tissue through the ! seam. Ease a little filling toward the tail with a blunt tool; keep the narrow curve soft. Do not stretch the faces or pack the tail tightly.
  6. Close and tape every seam. Move tissue away from the opening. Glue the four ! tabs beneath B and press closed. Tape the FULL back seam, including the former opening. Tape all wall joins across the full depth. Inspect for gaps before attaching the small pieces.
  7. Attach one fin to each side. On FL and FR, put glue on the blank BACK above the dashed line. Attach FL to its pad on F, and FR to its pad on B. Gently lift each tip at the fold. The two fins are flat paper flaps, not stuffed parts.
  8. Finish the shape. Gently shape the filled body and check the tail dip and both tips for open edges. Add short tape patches across any remaining gaps. The tail is already part of the body; there is no extra tail or water-spout piece.

FAQ

How do the three wall strips fit the tail?

W1 follows the head and back from 1 to 2; W2 wraps both tail lobes from 2 to 3; W3 follows the belly from 3 to 1. Match the N fold to the tail notch and join the 8 mm overlaps as you go. The two fins stay flat and receive no filling.
