Assembly overview

  1. Print, mark and cut. Print both color OR both coloring pages at 100% / Actual Size. Do not Fit to Page. Check each 50 mm square. Use 80–120 gsm paper. Transfer join numbers to the blank backs before cutting all 6 pieces. Color first. Cut outer edges only; thin inner lines are decoration. FILL marks the seam opening, not a cut.
  2. Curve the walls; fold only the tabs. Curve W1 and W2 smoothly around the oval; do not crease the coat-color boundaries. Fold the small 5 mm tabs inward about 90 degrees along their dashed roots, with F tabs on the same side. Each wall is 140.34 mm plus an 8 mm overlap. Dry-fit the overlaps BEHIND the next strip, aligning its starting edge with the dotted JOIN line. Do not close the loop yet.
  3. Follow F: W1 right, W2 left. The map shows the printed side of F. Glue its F tabs under the blank back, a few at a time. W1 goes from top 1 down the right side to bottom 2. W2 returns from 2 up the left side to 1. Join W1 behind W2 at 2, then W2 behind W1 at 1, using the 8 mm overlaps. Keep the face outward. Tape the entire front seam with short overlapping pieces.
  4. Fit B; leave four tabs open. Turn the shell over. Match the mirrored B to the same join numbers, with artwork outward. Glue it onto the B tabs EXCEPT the four marked !. Leave this lower-body back seam accessible. Do not cut a separate filling hole.
  5. Fill through the lower seam. Add small loose pieces of tissue through the ! seam. Spread them through the oval body. Stop before the faces bulge or the joins start pulling apart. Keep the ear pieces unfilled.
  6. Close and tape every seam. Move tissue away from the opening. Glue the four ! tabs beneath B and press closed. Tape the FULL back seam, including the former opening. Tape all wall joins across the full depth. Inspect for gaps before attaching the small pieces.
  7. Glue ear roots; tilt the tops. Keep each lower 8 mm ear root flat. Put glue only on its blank BACK below the dashed line and cover the matching EL or ER pad on F. Once secure, tilt the round upper part slightly forward, away from F, at the dashed line. The side view shows the direction. Do not fold the ear in half or flatten the pink face against the body; keep the top unglued and unfilled.
  8. Finish the shape. Check both full seams and the ear tabs. The four paws, muzzle and coat patches are printed decoration. Do not cut around these details or add legs or a tail. Allow the glue to dry before gently squeezing.

FAQ

Which parts of the ears should I fold?

Fold only on the dashed ear line. Glue the blank back of the lower 8 mm root flat onto its matching pad on F, then tilt the upper part slightly forward. Do not fold the whole ear in half or stuff it. Coat color boundaries on the body walls are not fold lines.

Which files should I print?

Choose color OR coloring and A4 OR US Letter. Print all 2 cutting files (01, 02) at 100% / Actual Size, without Fit to Page. Measure each 50 mm square. Read both English guide pages. Each PDF contains one page. The complete ZIP has 35 files and includes all three guide languages.
