Cookie Milk Jar Paper Craft

Assembly overview

1. Print and cut. Print the 3 color OR 3 coloring pages at 100% / Actual Size, without Fit to Page. Measure each 50 mm square. Use 160–200 gsm cardstock. Color first if needed. Cut 12 pieces; keep all tabs.
2. Two walls make one jar. Use W1 AND W2 for one jar. Each wall has 119.38 mm of usable wrap plus an 8 mm JOIN flap; 238.76 mm wraps the 76 mm jar. A and B name the two seams in these diagrams. Keep the R rim tabs unfolded while joining the walls.
3. Join W1 to W2 at A. Glue the printed face of the W1 JOIN flap behind the blank back at the plain edge of W2. Stop at the dotted line. The joined long strip below is still open at both B ends. The enlarged section shows W2 above W1; gold is glue.
4. Close the second seam B. Curve the joined strip into ONE cylinder, printed side outside. Glue the W2 flap behind the plain end of W1 with 8 mm overlap. The top view shows both half walls and both seams. Keep the top and bottom open; do not glue in the lid or base yet.
5. Install the bottom first. Fold the B tabs inward by 90 degrees. Apply glue to their upper faces. Lower disc B through the open top and press it onto all bottom tabs. Support the base from below while the glue sets.
6. Reinforce base and rim. Use short clear-tape pieces across the outside bottom seam, overlapping each other around the full circle. Then fold the R rim tabs 180 degrees into the jar and glue them to the inside wall. Leave the jar empty.
7. Join L1 and L2 at A. Use BOTH purple strips for one lid. Each gives 123.15 mm net plus 8 mm JOIN. Above: two loose strips; below: L1 joined to L2. Glue the printed face of the L1 flap behind the plain edge of L2 at A. Keep B unglued. Do not fold the printed fluting.
8. Test B without glue. The plan view shows the lid band around the finished jar, with B still free. Hold the ends at B and check that the band slides over the rim without squeezing it. Start at the dotted 8 mm line; adjust only this overlap if needed, keeping at least 6 mm. Do not glue it on the jar.
9. Lift off, then glue B. Lift the band off the jar while keeping the tested fit. Away from the jar, glue L2 behind the plain edge of L1 at B. Press that overlap and let it set. The enlarged section shows the reversed join. Keep the lid empty and separate; its top goes on next.
10. Close the lid top. Fold the lid top tabs inward by 90 degrees. Glue their upper faces, place T on top with its picture facing out, and support the tabs from the open underside. Keep the lid separate from the jar until dry.
11. Make three flat cookies. Glue C1A to C1B, C2A to C2B and C3A to C3B, with the blank backs together. Match the circular edges and press flat. There are three double-layer paper cookies; add no stuffing.
12. Store and play. When dry, place all 3 cookies flat inside the jar and put on the removable lid. The milk and chocolate are printed artwork. Tip the jar to slide the cookies out. Never add food or liquid.
