Assembly overview

1. Print and cut four pieces. Print color OR coloring at 100% / Actual Size. Do not Fit to Page. Check the 50 mm square. Cut F, B, W1 and W2 once each. Color first. Use paper, scissors, glue, clear tape and soft tissue; adult help for cutting.
2. Curve the wall strips. Each wall has a 116.850 mm net length plus an 8 mm overlap. Gently curve both 9.425 mm zones on each strip. Keep the 60 and 38 mm runs straight. Do not make sharp creases at the rounded corners.
3. Join W1 + W2 into one ring. Glue the full 8 mm end of W1 behind the start of W2, then W2 behind W1. Align both long edges. Let dry. The net ring measures 233.699 mm around and 22 mm deep. The 8 mm overlaps are not added to the ring perimeter.
4. Tape the front F all around. Fit the ring to F with printed sides facing out. Start one join at the left end of the top straight edge, 6 mm from the left side. Use short overlapping pieces of clear tape to attach the entire front perimeter, including all four curves.
5. Attach B; leave a lower gap. Turn over to the BACK. Align B with F. Tape around B except for a centered 30 mm length of the bottom straight seam. The orange line shows this gap on the BACK. No new hole or top opening is cut.
6. Fill through the BACK bottom. Feed small loose pieces of soft tissue through that 30 mm lower BACK seam. Spread them gently into the corners. Keep the block shallow and leave enough room to close the seam; do not pack tightly.
7. Seal the same 30 mm seam. Bring the back panel and ring edge together. Close the whole filling gap with overlapping clear tape, covering both ends. Check both complete perimeters and both wall joins: no untaped gaps should remain.
8. Check the finished butter. Let all glue dry. The finished block has matching rounded front and back panels and a continuous yellow gingham side. Press gently. If a seam lifts, support it and add overlapping tape before using.
