Assembly overview

  1. Print and cut five pieces. Print color OR coloring at 100% / Actual Size, never Fit to Page. Check 50 mm. Cut F, B, S1, G and S2 once each, retaining the 8 mm joins. Color first. Use paper, scissors, glue, tape and tissue; adult help for cutting.
  2. Identify the three sidewalls. S1 and S2 each cover one 90 mm sloping side. G covers the 78.540 mm curved bottom. G starts flat: curve it gently into the bottom arc. Fold only the three 8 mm end joins inward. Keep all printed surfaces outside.
  3. Join S1 > G > S2 into one ring. Glue the full S1 end join behind the start of G. Glue G behind the green start of S2. Close the tip by gluing S2 behind the red start of S1. Align long edges. The net perimeter is 258.540 mm; joins are extra. Let dry.
  4. Attach F to the sector ring. Place F on the ring: red tip to tip, both red slopes against S1/S2 and green curved bottom against G. Tape the COMPLETE front perimeter with overlapping short clear-tape pieces, including the tip and both lower corners.
  5. Attach B; leave a BACK side gap. Turn to the back. Align B and tape its perimeter except 30 mm midway along the RIGHT sloping seam of this back view, between 30 and 60 mm from the tip. Orange marks this existing seam. Do not cut a new hole.
  6. Fill through that BACK seam. Add small loose pieces of soft tissue through the 30 mm back sloping seam. Gently distribute toward the tip and curved bottom. Keep the 18 mm depth and room to close; do not pack tightly.
  7. Seal the whole filling seam. Bring B and the sidewall edge together. Tape all 30 mm, overlapping both ends. Check the entire front and back perimeters, three wall joins, tip and corners. No gaps should remain. Let glue dry.
  8. Check the finished watermelon. The finished slice has one smiling front with three seeds, a seed-only back, two red sloping sides and one green curved bottom. Gently press only after drying. Repair any lifting edge with overlapping clear tape.
