Assembly overview

  1. Prepare 19 pieces. Print 3 sheets in one style at 100%; check 50 mm. Body: 100–140 gsm; attachments: 160–180 gsm. Use scissors, glue, 6 mm clear tape and soft filling. Color first; copy codes and edge numbers onto blank backs before cutting. Pair every a/b attachment.
  2. Join the 42 mm body band. Fold HW1–3 on dashed lines. HW1 follows edges 1–7, HW2 8–10, HW3 11–14. Tape short ends edge to edge, including the final end joint, without overlap. Keep the 42 mm depth and the raised neck outline.
  3. Fit the first side. Place H1 printed face outward. Match numbered band segments to edges 1–14. Wrap short tape strips over each outside seam, half on H1 and half on the band. Leave the opposite rim open.
  4. Close and lightly fill. Fit mirrored H2 to the open rim, printed face outside and beak at the same end as H1. Leave bottom edge 11 open. Fill head and body lightly through it, then tape shut. The flat belly will rest on the table.
  5. Laminate the wings. Glue W1a/W1b and W2a/W2b with blank backs together. Match outlines and keep feather lines outside. Let dry. Fold only the 5 mm roots on dashed lines; leave each wing blade flat.
  6. Attach the two wings. Glue roots on opposite body sides: start 36 mm behind the beak tip and 39 mm below the body top. Roots stay against the sides; wing blades extend down and slightly outward. The feathered ends point down, away from the neck.
  7. Make and attach the comb. Glue C1a/C1b back to back. Fold the 4 mm root. Glue it across the 26 mm flat head top, centered between the two sides. The comb stands vertically along the head's length, with points up, 17 mm above the head.
  8. Attach two wattles. Laminate V1a/V1b and V2a/V2b, blank backs together. Fold their 4 mm roots. Glue one on each cheek just under the beak: 9 mm from beak tip and 25 mm below body top. The rounded red ends hang down; do not glue both onto one side.
  9. Attach flat feet underneath. Laminate F1a/F1b and F2a/F2b, blank backs together. Keep feet FLAT. Glue the upper face of each 8 mm rectangular root under the belly, immediately behind the front end of edge 11. Place feet side by side with 12 mm between roots; toes point forward beyond the breast.
  10. Let the hen rest on its belly. Let glue dry with the body supported. Check two wings, one comb, two wattles and two feet. The belly supports this resting hen; feet are decoration. Body: 108 × 86 × 42 mm; height with comb: 103 mm. Handle by the body and press only very gently.
