Assembly overview

  1. Prepare the ten pieces. Use 100–140 gsm paper, scissors, narrow clear tape and a little soft filling. Print one color OR coloring sheet at 100%; check 50 mm. Cut eight panels G1–G8 and end caps A and Z.
  2. Shape each panel. Pre-fold the seven transverse dashed lines. The printed surface stays outside. Form two rounded lobes with an inward waist at the middle fold. All eight panels use the same fold levels and shape.
  3. Join neighbouring panels. Match the right edge of G1 to the left edge of G2, aligning every fold level. The edges meet WITHOUT overlap. On the OUTSIDE, bridge each straight edge segment with a 5–6 mm strip of clear tape. Repeat G2–G3 through G7–G8.
  4. Close the shell and one end. Curve the eight panels around and tape G8 to G1 the same way. Both small ends remain open. Place A over one end and bridge all eight edges with short pieces of clear tape. Keep the other end open.
  5. Fill lightly. Insert small tufts through the remaining opening, about 13 mm across its flats. Use a blunt stick to distribute filling into both lobes, keeping the waist indented. Do not pack tightly or push against a seam.
  6. Close the final opening. Set Z onto the remaining eight-sided opening and bridge every edge with clear tape. The shell is 120 mm long and up to 50 mm wide. Gently shape the two lobes. The printed texture represents a closed shell; it is not designed to peel open.
